Peter Makuck

is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at East Carolina University. He is the author of the short story collection, Costly Habits, and his poetry books include The Sunken Lightship, Against Distance, and, most recently, Off Season in the Promised Land (2005). His non-fiction, stories, and poems have appeared in national periodicals.
